Dear APTi Members and Supporters:

For almost 40 years, APTi has served the international community interested in psychological type. Our members seek to extend the development, research, applications and ethical use of type theory—and our association exists to connect and support our members. We know that APTi is making a difference in this world—and we want to make sure it continues to do so!

Over the last few months, the Board of Directors has been analyzing our operations, financial standing, and obligations. APTi does not have the numerical strength it once did—nor can it sustain operations through the professional association model. To do so, will bankrupt the association.  We have done our due diligence in looking at all options for the association—including closing our doors or suspending operations for a period of time.

At the end of the day, we came to this conclusion: APTi is relevant in this world. Our current members and supporters have great passion for personality type and continue to support the work of the APTi. Because of this, we are providing you this update and asking you to join us in community as we take the next steps into our future.

We are transforming APTi from a professional association model to a grassroots community model.  The “hub” of our operations will be our website at www.aptinternational.org where our news and updates will be available, as well as our latest educational and professional development opportunities.

Your Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and other volunteer leaders will be the human resources for our members and the general public. You will be able to find the right person to connect with through the website.  As we will no longer have office staff, we ask that you give us a little time after sending in a communication. We promise we will get back to you in a timely fashion with the information you are seeking.

As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt educational charity, APTi will continue to seek support from individuals, institutions and companies. If you have a connection or lead for possible support, please put in a good word for us and share how we can follow-up in soliciting and securing sponsorship, donations and grants.

Finally, as stewards of this incredible association, your Board of Directors promises to provide regular updates on our transformation into a new community. Your continued support and feedback will help us succeed in this very important endeavor.  We are not afraid of a little hard work to secure APTi’s future. To that end, we will be sending out an email shortly detailing the areas we will need volunteers and support. We will look forward to hearing from you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Thank you for your continued support.
The APTi Board of Directors
