Psychological Type Communities
APTI’s Psychological Type Communities (PTCs) are a valued member benefit. Think of them as little gathering spots where members geek out on their favorite type topics, swap stories, and spark fresh ideas together. You can jump into a PTC that catches your interest—or start your own and invite others along for the ride.
What are you passionate about?
It’s your chance to explore, connect, and lead… all while having fun with type! Any active member can start their own PTC! Just fill out the form I’m Interested in Leading a PTC! and our Membership Director will be in touch to help you bring your idea to life.
PTCs have two “flavors”:
- SIG (Special Interest Group) PTCs offer opportunities for deeper discussions, advanced programs, and learning with APTI members from anywhere in the world.
- Regional PTCs offer APTI members in regional proximity (e.g., a city, students at a university, etc.) opportunities to meet in person as well as virtually.
What topics might a PTC focus on?
Here are a few ideas to start your creative juices flowing:
- Type in Depth: An Exploration of the Eight Functions
- Jungian interests: mandalas, dreamwork, I Ching, philosophy, Tarot, yoga….)
- Coaching: multiple directions (career, leadership, executive, life planning, etc.)
- Tech interests: gaming and type, for instance
- Exploration of other assessment tools to compare/contrast with MBTI, (e.g., non-personality tools like 360-degree feedback, EQ-I models, etc.)
