Certifications
There are various tools available for identifying psychological type patterns. APTI supports those tools with research support and authors known to understand C.G. Jung’s propositions about psychological type. Listed in chronological order of development, each of the following tools serve various purposes for learning and exploring personality type.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®)
Sorts on four dimensions (Step I) or four dimensions and 20 facets (Step II), it is the most widely used tool for identifying a four-letter code (ISTJ, ENFP, etc). Step II provides the four-letter type and 20 facet scales, 5 within each set of polarities. Created by Isabel Briggs Myers, it has undergone multiple revisions in its 65-year history. It is published by the Myers Briggs Company.

The Golden Personality Profiler (GPP®)
Sorts on four dimensions, 16 facet scales, and 6 aspects of Tense-Calm. Development began in the 1980s and was initially published in 1994. It has undergone multiple revisions in its 30-year history. Multiple researchers were essential in the development of the tool, including multiple generations of the Golden family. Dr. John Golden is the current researcher and the Golden, LLC is publisher.

Type Discovery and Type Elements (TD, TE)
Originally the Majors Personality Type Indicator, the tool was renamed Type Discovery and a second report as Type Elements. Type Discovery provides a four-letter type with details regarding about how an individual scores on all polarities. Type Elements provides a four-letter type and detailed analysis on the 32 Type Elements sub-scales, offering insights into subtle variations within psychological types, crucial for tailored personal development strategies. Dr. Mark Majors is a psychometric specialist who has worked on multiple research teams analyzing personality type data patterns resulting in the creation of these tools a decade ago. It is published by Core Factors, Inc.

Pearman Personality Integrator® (PPI)
Measures both the reported comfort with and demonstrated use of the eight Jungian functions (Extraverted Intuiting, Introverted Thinking, etc), with an additional measure of psychological Flexibility to explore ease of access and use of the eight functions. There are several reports, including an integrated report with the EQ-I 2.0. Developed by Dr. Roger R. Pearman and published by Multi-Health Systems, Inc (MHS) of Toronto, Canada, the PPI was released after multi-cultural validation was completed in 2014.
