Following the Evidence, Applying the Tools, and Building a Bold Future for Psychological Type
>Want to reaffirm your knowledge on the power and validity of psychological type?
> Need to polish your ability to communicate the evidence and value of psychological type?
> Eager to learn about different approaches to assessing psychological type?
> Seek to expand your horizons on different aspects of psychological type?

Our fall Forum will assist in getting answers to these questions!
Research supporting the theory of psychological type has been analyzed for more than 70 years. Most of us who use personality type look for accessible and scalable solutions to applying awareness and use of type for those with whom we work and live.
Four long-time researchers will share their insights and explain their approaches in assessing psychological type and demonstrate how their view of type addresses particular key application questions such as looking at type and stress or the eight functions or flexibility within type. In historical sequence, the presenters are:
- Rich Thompson, Ph.D., Director of Research for the Myers Briggs Company who oversees research and development on the MBTI Global instruments.
- John Golden, Ed.D., Founder, Golden, LLC and researcher of the Golden Personality Profiler, which explores type and stress-related factors.
- Mark Majors, Ph.D., researcher and author of the Majors Type Indicator and Type Discovery tools. Mark was the principle psychometric investigator for Form M and Q of the MBTI as well as the scoring program developer and Manual Co-Author for Form Q.
- Roger R. Pearman, Ed.D., researcher and writer, developed the Pearman Personality Integrator, looking at the cognitive eight functions and psychological flexibility.
Each member of the Forum will provide:
- A summary overview of the research data they have been responsible for. This is NOT a deep dive into research methods or even samples per se. Participants will learn what decades of research using various methods and expertise have produced.
- A single page from an instrument report which is an artifact of research and a particular approach to type. While there is no time for a deep interpretation of a report, participants in the Forum will see different reports of type information and the underlying reasoning of each approach, based on evidence.
- Practical takeaways on defending type as a legitimate area of study and any future research you are doing.
The Forum includes an opportunity for participants to ask follow-up questions and to offer key observations for applying the insights learned.
Participants get an update on future research from each of the presenters and from the Myers & Briggs Foundation head of research, Kesstan Blandin, Ph.D. and each of the other panelists on long-term research type-related initiatives.
Do not miss this rare opportunity to hear from key researchers in the field of psychological type and their insights on applying type!
