Lifelong Friendship Forming: Integrating the Conscious with the Unconscious Psyche Across Developmental Ages

Understanding and appreciating the contribution of the unconscious psyche to the overall human functioning has been reserved for adults.  Dr. Murphy suggests that teaching the younger person to understand and know the energies and messages from dreams and archetypal patterns can help build the connection and relationship between these two important aspects of the individual and lead to better self-understanding, self-acceptance, and self-management.  

We will explore this potential in this session:

 1. The WHAT - defining the psyche

 2. The HOW - discussing the development and the stages of conscious growth and psyche growth 

 3. The PRIZE (TOOL) - How we can use the power of the psyche to become better self-aware which leads to better self-management

Main take-aways for personal use:

 1. Investigate the value of teaching the young about the psyche as well as the body and the brain

2. Recognize the power of the BLEND of the unconscious energy with the conscious energy.

Review ways to apply the understanding of the psyche and conscious self to help clients be more self-aware and to use this understanding to manage self, and address life issues.

This presentation is geared to Intermediate and Advanced levels of type knowledge.

ABOUT ELIZABETH MURPHY

Elizabeth Murphy is a licensed psychologist and licensed specialist in school psychology, and is well known throughout the global type community. She has presented in multiple U.S. states and other countries on the use of type concepts. Dr. Murphy completed a 2-year studies program in depth psychology with the Chicago Jung Association, and has completed multiple programs in dream tending and dream understanding.  She taught the MBTI® certification course for 18 years.
